Virtual May Day Memories.
As we are currently constrained by the coronavirus lockdown we’ll be having a lie-in on May Day instead of getting up at some unspeakable hour to dance on May Hill.
For those of you with fond memories of May Days past, Ian our PRO has lovingly hand-crafted a selection of photos for you on our Facebook page.
40th Anniversary of Wimberry Clog!
The 25th April should have seen us dancing out in Newent to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our good friends and neighbours Wimberry Clog!
‘Wimberry’ as they are fondly known, sprang from The Forest of Dean Morris Men (as they then were), and since then we have enjoyed their company on a great many dance-outs and other occasions. Here are a few photos from past and more recent times – grateful thanks to Dave Evans for the photos.
Thank you for your company Wimberry Clog – we hope to celebrate your anniversary with you once we are all released from….
In the light of current advice and circumstances it has been decided that we have no option but to suspend Morris practices for the foreseeable future.
We will keep an eye on the situation, but from the timescale that the Government is working to it looks likely that the dancing out season will also be affected.
We also regret to inform you that our annual Family Weekend in June has been cancelled for this year. The good news is that we are already making tentative plans for our 2021 Family Weekend! The date will be 11th, 12th, and 13th June – pop it in your calendar now!
We meet every Wednesday at 8pm ’til 10pm at The Miners Arms, Whitecroft (GL15 4PE).
Come and join us, have a drink, and give it a try for yourself!
All welcome; male and female, younger and older. (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.)
